Museum Grounds

We are fortunate to be situated within Frederick Law Olmsted's masterpiece, Delaware Park.

From our expansive portico, behold stunning views of Mirror Lake, Hoyt Lake, and the Japanese Peace Garden

Built in 1974, the Japanese Garden was a gift from our sister city Kanazawa.  It is managed and maintained by the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy and is a popular location for wedding rentals.

It is also the site of the annual Buffalo Cherry Blossom Festival, organized by the Friends of the Japanese Garden.

The popular Scajaquada Creek Bike Path passes between our building and Scajaquada Creek.

This tranquil, flowing landscape design makes Delaware Park a haven for visitors from Buffalo and all over who want a quiet connection to nature.

This picturesque parkland is freely accessible to the public.
