An Evening with Jacquie Walker
11/06/2024 @ 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Election Day is coming up on November 5. Who better to discuss the results than Buffalo’s longest-serving television anchor?
Join us Wednesday, November 6 at the Buffalo History Museum for a conversation with Jacquie Walker. The event is presented by WNY Mensa and hosted by retired Buffalo News reporter/editor Budd Bailey.
Jacquie grew up in Michigan and arrived in Western New York early in the 1980s. She was part of the coverage of all of the major events in that era – everything from the Bills’ four consecutive Super Bowl appearances in the early 1990s to the Flight 3407 tragedy in 2009. Walker is a member of the New York State Broadcasters Hall of Fame, the Buffalo Broadcasters Hall of Fame, and the Silver Circle of the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television and the Arts. Jacquie was nominated for a New York State Emmy award an amazing 26 times.
Now she’ll be at the History Museum to tell stories about some of those major stories as well as her reflections on how the business of television news has changed over the years. And since every news person loves to cover elections, she’s sure to have plenty of opinions on what has been a topsy-turvy campaign season on both the local and national scene
