Take a trip back in time at the Waterway of Change exhibit! Walk the land of the canal and “step into the shoes” of someone who lived and worked there. Come away with a deeper understanding of the lasting impact the Erie Canal had on New York and the country as a whole.

Join us to learn more about Sarah Parker Remond, Frances Ellen Watkins Harper and Harriet Tubman and how the canal played a role in their lives. Explore the impact the canal had on freedom seekers, the Underground Railroad, and the eventual abolition of enslaved people.
