Red Jacket Awards Ceremony 2021

Each fall, The Buffalo History Museum recognizes individuals and organizations for their contributions to our community through the Red Jacket, Daniel B. Niederlander, and Owen B. Augspurger Awards.

This year’s honorees include Clifford Bell (the Red Jacket Award), Lillion Batchelor and Shonnie Finnegan (the Owen B. Augspurger Award), and the Colored Musicians Club (the Daniel B. Niederlander Award).

The evening includes:

  • Cocktails & Hors D’oeuvres 6 p.m.
  • Awards Ceremony 7 p.m.
  • Coffee & Dessert 7:30 p.m.

PLEASE NOTE: In accordance with NYS COVID-19 mandates for social gatherings, our venue requires proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a recent negative COVID-19 test for events in excess of 250 guests. Please note that COVID-19 regulations and protocols are subject to change based on changing CDC and NYS DOH guidance.

Valid proofs of vaccination and negative tests are as follows:

  • Physical CDC issued vaccination card
  • Legible photo of CDC issued vaccination card
  • Excelsior Pass
  • Print copy of a negative test taken within 72 hours
  • Email of a negative test taken within 72 hours

Any proof of vaccination or a negative test must clearly include the name of the guest in order to be considered valid.
