The Home Within
10/10/2024 @ 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Join us on October 10th from 6-9pm at the Buffalo History Museum for The Home Within – a Multilingual Poetry event honoring Buffalo’s rich Linguistic Tapestry and Language Justice.
Enjoy a vibrant evening where community members will perform their multilingual original poetry developed in the workshops and local artists will showcase their talent. This event will feature Emmy Award-winning spoken word artist and former Buffalo poet laureate Jillian Hanesworth, Syrian humanitarian and modern poet & visual artist Nada Odeh, versatile dance artist Jacqueline Cherry, and a captivating flute performance by Dayatra Amber.
This event is a key part of our ongoing language justice efforts, and we can’t wait to share this night of poetry, art, and connection with you. Mark your calendars and be part of this inspiring celebration!
The event is a collaboration between the New York Immigration Coalition, The Partnership for the Public Good, Justice for Migrant Families, Kind fools, Community Canvases, The Office of Assemblymember Jon Rivera, and The Buffalo History Museum.
