Junior History Buffs

05/17/2024 @ 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Junior History Buffs is a program at The Buffalo History Museum that engages children ages 4-9 in age-appropriate history lessons, songs, stories, crafts and games. A short program, or “Circle Time,” is instructor-guided and includes songs, a brief lesson about local history and a story. After this, self-guided activities can be enjoyed by the whole family such as a craft, interactive artifact explorations, and games related to the exhibits.

May’s theme is Inventors and Engineers! Electricity and the Erie Canal played a huge part in the history of Buffalo!  Learn about where electricity came from and who helped bring it to Buffalo. The Erie Canal connected Buffalo to Albany, requiring new feats in engineering. We will learn how the canal impacted daily life in Buffalo.

This program takes place every third Friday from 10AM to 2PM, with circle time at 10:30 a.m.

This free admission day is made possible through the generosity of M&T Bank.
