About Our Collections
The Library is responsible for all two-dimensional items in the Museum's collection: books, pamphlets, letters, diaries, personal papers, organizational & business records, periodicals, newspapers, scrapbooks, photographs, postcards, prints, drawings, posters, maps, atlases, microfilms, and even some DVDs.
We have major collections on the Holland Land Company, cookbooks & menus, Millard Fillmore, Seneca Indians, the Pan-American Exposition, the Larkin Company, and much more. A new collecting initiative is our Newlywed Project.
You can follow our new acquisitions, check out our book wish list, or explore our extensive link collection.
Effective January 1, 2015, everyone who wishes to use manuscript material (anything marked in FRANK with a red icon or a hyphen in the call number) must submit a Scholar Pass application and present valid photo ID upon arrival.
If your roots are in Western New York, our genealogical resources may help you find them. We are the leading destination for Buffalo house history researchers. We have a special introduction for first-time visitors. We welcome you to discover us.
